Handball squads announced

KATHMANDU, Sept 21: Nepal Handball Association (NHA) has announced the final squads in both women's and men's sections for the upcoming IHF Trophy to be held in Dhaka, Bangladesh. All together nine nations from South Central Asia will be participating in the tournament from October 9 to 13.

KATHMANDU, Sept 21: Nepal Handball Association (NHA) has announced the final squads in both women's and men's sections for the upcoming IHF Trophy to be held in Dhaka, Bangladesh. All together nine nations from South Central Asia will be participating in the tournament from October 9 to 13. 



The 14-member women's squad comprises of Nisha Rai, Ramila Basnet, Yashoda Tamrakar, Sangita Shrestha, Tara Devi Mahat, Laxmi Rai, Sushmita Baidhya, Shila Regmi Chhettri, Ramita Khadka, Akriti Gurung, Babita Shrestha, Pramita Thapa, Aaita Lama and Anjana Malla. Parbat Gurung and Binda Kumari Maharaji are coach and assistant coach of the women's team while NHA's member Prakash Kumar Sunuwar is the team manager. 

Similarly the men's team consists of Tenjen Lama, Narendra BC, Ramesh KC, Ashish Adhikari, Sachit Karki, Sandip Khadka, Chandra KC, Sarun Shrestha, Bhuwan Shahi, Sujan Maharjan, Sujan Magar, Sudhanshu Shrestha, Matrika Rai and Rajesh Tamang. The team's head coach and assistant coach are Himal Dahal and Ramesh Sapkota respectively while NHA's vice president Bhim Bahadur KC is the team manager.  



Nepali women's team had finished third in the IHF trophy held in Nepal and Pakistan in 2012 and 2014 respectively.
