The Supreme Court (SC) is expected to start hearing on a case filed against Bhuwan KC on Monday (August 15). A writ petition was registered on August 11 demanding the cancellation of the decision of the Council of Ministers to appoint KC as the chairman of the Film Development Board.

According to the spokesperson for the SC, Bimal Paudel, the other candidates who had applied for the chairmanship of the Board including film director Naresh Kumar Poudel filed the petition claiming that KC is not qualified for the post. The Council of Ministers, Film Development Board and the Ministry of Information and Communications have been made the defendants in the case.
Actor Bhuwan KC was appointed as the chairman of the Film Development Board on July 25, Monday.
