KATHMANDU, July 26: Himalaya Airlines has chosen Amadeus as its first global distribution system (GDS) partner to distribute its fares, schedules and availability through the world's widest network of travel agents.

The Nepal-China joint venture airline launched its inaugural flight to Doha on May 31 and is preparing to add Delhi, Lhasa, Chengdu, Beijing, Colombo, Bangkok, Hong Kong and Dammam in its flight network in the coming months.

Issuing a statement, Himalaya Airlines said that the agreement with Amadeus means Amadeus-connected travel agencies worldwide will have access to the airline's full range of fares, seats and schedules under the same conditions as those offered through all other sales channels.

“Amadeus brings to the table an unmatched global network of travel agencies and industry expertise, and we are excited to work with them to grow our business,” Vijay Shrestha, vice president, administration of Himalaya Airlines, said in the statement.
