Hom Lal wins Lumbini marathon

KAPILVASTU, March 13: Hom Lal Shrestha of the Tribhuvan Army Club became the champion of the Third Lumbini Peace Marathon held in Lumbini on Sunday. Hom finished the 42.19 kilometers race in 2 hours 22 minutes and 36 seconds and bagged a purse of Rs 100,000.

KAPILVASTU, March 13: Hom Lal Shrestha of the Tribhuvan Army Club became the champion of the Third Lumbini Peace Marathon held in Lumbini on Sunday. Hom finished the 42.19 kilometers race in 2 hours 22 minutes and 36 seconds and bagged a purse of Rs 100,000. 



The race that started from Kudan, ended at Mayadevi garden via Tilaurakot and Dohani. 

The marathon jointly organized by buddhistcircuits.com and Adventure Sports Tourism Society to mark the Buddha’s return to Kapilvastu after attaining enlightenment, has seen the participation of 55 players including seven foreign athletes.

Similarly, Gopi Chandra Parki of the Armed Police Force (APF) secured the second position clocking the race in 2 hours 24 minutes 24 seconds while another Army man Khagendra Bhatt finished in third position clocking 2 hours 24 minutes 41 seconds. 


Gopi and Khagendra were rewarded with Rs 75,000 and 50,000 respectively.
