Home minister's instructions to security agencies: Follow the law, not orders

KATHMANDU, Jan 12: Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister Rabi Lamichhane has instructed the security agencies to follow the law and not orders.



Speaking to reporters at the parking lot of Bharatpur Airport today, Home Minister Lamichhane said that he has instructed the chief district officers across the country to work with high morale.

"I have instructed all the chief district officers to work without being influenced by anyone," he said, "I have warned them to follow the law and not to do any wrong." He said that he has instructed the security apparatus to do only what is right and follow the law and not orders.


He says that he has instructed the security agencies to work more ruthlessly in the case of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) of which he is the chairman. He said that he is working to strengthen the Nepal Police and maintain the rule of law by solving the problems within the police organization.
