Action will be taken against those who spread misleading propaganda on social media
KATHMANDU, March 21: The Ministry of Home Affairs (MoHA) has issued a 21-point directive to the chief district officers (CDOs) of all 77 districts.
Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister Rabi Lamichhane on Wednesday issued instructions to the CDOs to play an active role in maintaining peace and security, enhancing service delivery, ensuring good governance, regulating activities, coordinating efforts, and facilitating citizens.

The directives call for active measures to uphold peace and curb criminal activities in their respective districts.
It is said that a three-month short-term action plan will be prepared and implemented in order to completely eliminate illegal activities in the districts and the subordinate units will be instructed accordingly.
Additionally, CDOs have been tasked with identifying high-crime areas within their jurisdictions and increasing security monitoring and patrols in those locations.
Instructions have also been given to control the unethical use of social media and preventing cyber-crime.
MoHA has issued directives to the district police offices and the district administration offices to disseminate one or more officials at the authorized level and to manage the desks to control and take action against the guilty who spread misleading, baseless messages, inciting ethnic tensions, undermining national unity, and violating individuals' right to privacy through social media.
Instructions have been given to control financial crime, improve road safety, reduce vehicle accidents, manage offices, utilize information technology for efficient service delivery, manage complaints, and implement the right to information.
