HoR meeting today: MCC on the agenda

KATHMANDU, Feb 27: The meeting of the House of Representatives is being held on Sunday afternoon. In the meeting to be held at 1 PM, the discussion on the proposal related to US-funded Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC) compact agreement is likely to start because of which MCC has been included in today's possible agenda.

KATHMANDU, Feb 27: The meeting of the House of Representatives is being held on Sunday afternoon. In the meeting to be held at 1 PM, the discussion on the proposal related to US-funded Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC) compact agreement is likely to start because of which MCC has been included in today's possible agenda.



The possible agenda published by the Parliament Secretariat on Saturday states that Finance Minister Janardan Sharma will submit a proposal to discuss the MCC.

In today's meeting, Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba will also present the annual report of the Attorney General.


Earlier, the meeting scheduled for Thursday was postponed to 1 PM on Friday at the request of the government. The meeting was postponed for Sunday as there was no agreement on MCC before Friday's meeting.


A meeting of the Business Advisory Committee is being held before the Parliament sitting. According to Shreedhar Neupane, Press Adviser to Speaker Agni Prasad Sapkota, the meeting of the Business Advisory Committee will be held at 11:30 AM on Sunday at Shankar Hall in New Baneshwor.


At present, there are 271 members in the House of Representatives. There are 98 MPs from CPN-UML, 61 from Nepali Congress, 49 from CPN (Maoist Center) including Speaker, 23 from CPN (Unified Socialist), 19 from JSP, 13 from LSP and one each from RPP, Janamorcha, NWPP, among others.
