The agitating UML lawmakers have alleged that the Speaker Sapkota had played a major role to split the UML by not sacking 14 UML lawmakers including Madhav Kumar Nepal as recommended by the party.

Earlier during the UML’s parliamentary party meeting, Chairman Oli had announced that they cannot allow parliament to function under the chairmanship of Speaker Sapkota. Separately, UML Chairman Oli has filed a writ petition against Speaker Sapkota for not taking action against 14 ‘sacked’ lawmakers of the party.
