KATHMANDU, Mar 13:  Dr Rijana Abdulla of the Maldives, who is currently affiliated with the Maternity Hospital at Thapathali, Kathmandu, had gone to Bangladesh to meet her husband. She was returning to Kathmandu in the same aircraft which crashed at the Tribhuwan International Airport at 2:18 pm on Monday.

While dozens of fellow passengers perished in the crash, Rijana is one of the few lucky passengers who managed to survive, and that too with just minor injuries. Talking to Republica from the bed of KMC Hospital, she said, “I feel like I have been given a new life.”
