KATHMANDU, Jan 29: Nepal is set to face India and Bangladesh in the Super Six of the ICC U-19 Cricket World Cup currently underway in South Africa.



Nepal’s opening match in the Super Six is scheduled for Wednesday (January 31) against Bangladesh, followed by a face-off against India on Friday (February 2).


Having secured a spot in the Super Six by finishing third in Group D, Nepal faced setbacks against New Zealand and Pakistan, losing by 64 runs and five wickets, respectively.

However, a victory against Afghanistan by one wicket secured Nepal’s spot in the Super Six.


The Super Six stage features 12 teams. One group is formed of Nepal, India, Pakistan, New Zealand, Bangladesh, and Ireland, while the other group consists of South Africa, England, West Indies, Australia, Sri Lanka, and Zimbabwe.


The top two teams from each Super Six group will advance to the semi-finals, with points from the group stage factored into the calculations.


Nepal earned its U-19 World Cup qualification by defeating the United Arab Emirates (UAE) in the finals of the U-19 Asia Qualifier.
