Talking to media persons at the Tribhuvan International Airport upon his arrival from India after concluding a three-day visit on Sunday evening, Chairman Dahal said that the conversation with the Indian side was held in a cordial atmosphere.

During his stay in India, Dahal said that he talked with the Indian political leadership about the revision of the 1950 Indo-Nepal Treaty, the implementation of the Nepal-India Eminent Persons Group (EPG) report, resolution of the long-standing border issue, the long-term solution to the problem related to flood and the reduction of trade deficit. "There was an open discussion about the prospects, opportunities and challenges of Nepal's development," he said.

Maoist Center Chairman Dahal expressed his belief that the issues he has put before the Indian side for the development of Nepal will be implemented soon.

During his stay in New Delhi, Chairman Dahal also interacted with representatives of the Nepali diaspora community in India.

On Saturday, he held a meeting with Indian Minister for External Affairs S. Jaishankar and discussed matters of bilateral interest between the two countries.

On a different note, Dahal could not hold a meeting with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, although he was originally scheduled to have a breakfast meeting with him. He expressed ignorance about the cause behind the cancellation of the meeting at the eleventh hour. Dahal left for Delhi on Friday at the invitation of Bharatiya Janata Party President JP Nadda.
