Indian national arrested for bypassing int’l calls from Birgunj

BIRGUNJ, June 22: Police have arrested an Indian national from Birgunj, Parsa district, on the charge of bypassing international calls.



A joint team from the Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) of Nepal Police and District Police Office, Parsa, arrested Irfan Sufian Khan of India from Birgunj on the charge of illegally bypassing international calls on Tuesday.

A team deployed by the bureau in coordination with the Police Inspector Bishal Malla of the Ward Police Office, arrested Khan while he was illegally bypassing international calls from the house of Manan Miya Teli at Birgunj Metropolitan City-2.


On the basis of special information, the police raided Teli's house and arrested Khan with various materials and equipment used to bypass calls through the Voice over Internet Protocol (VOIP). The incident is being further investigated and Khan has been handed over to the District Police Office, Parsa, said Inspector Ganesh Subedi.
