Indian PM to inaugurate pilgrimage house

KATHMANDU, Aug 29: Prime Minister KP Oli and his Indian counterpart Narendra Modi will jointly inaugurate a Dharmashala (a resthouse for pilgrims), constructed at Tilganga on Thursday. The Dharmashala was constructed with financial assistance from the Indian government.

KATHMANDU, Aug 29: Prime Minister KP Oli and his Indian counterpart Narendra Modi will jointly inaugurate a Dharmashala (a resthouse for pilgrims), constructed at Tilganga on Thursday. The Dharmashala was constructed with financial assistance from the Indian government.



The Dharmashala was built for Hindu pilgrims visiting the Pashupatinath Temple. It can accommodate 397 pilgrims. India had provided over Rs 200 million for the construction.

Thousands of Hindu devotees from India and several parts of Nepal visit Pashupatinath temple to worship lord Shiva, said Prem Hari Dhungana, information officer at the Pashupati Area Development Trust (PADT).


Apart from inaugurating pilgrimage house Indian premier Modi will offer worship at Pashupatinath Temple around 9 am Thursday, informed Dhungana. The PADT has completed all preparations required for welcome and his felicitation.


PADT has already started cleaning up the Pashupati area for welcome visit to PM Modi. PM Modi along with his security guards will be guided by one of priests and PADT member for temple visit said Dhungana.


Officials are busy in decorating the temple premises with flowers to welcome the Modi led delegation. Members of the PADT, priests, officials and local politicians will welcome the delegates there.
