As the International Women’s Day is being celebrated across the world with the slogan #BeBoldForChange, women in Palpa are seen chopping firewood, as if they are untouched by it.

Despite various works women carry out in their day-to-day life, their labor is still not recognized. Their wage is still not on a par with that of men’s for the same job.

Similarly, the women are seen mixing cement with sand for building a house at Khasyauli VDC in the district while in the same VDC a group of women are spotted coming back home after observing International Women’s Day.

These two different images give us a vivid picture of women that raises questions whether a mere celebration of women’s day can bring any changes in their life.
