Lando, an Italian national who has served as an IOM official for over 20 years and was previously the agency's Chief of Mission in Tunisia, underlined IOM's commitment to support the government in its pursuit of safe, orderly and regular migration as envisioned by the Global Compact on Migration and the UN's Sustainable Development Goals.

“We will continue to support the government's efforts in mainstreaming migration into national policies and share the view that migration needs to be addressed holistically to fully contribute to the achievement of Nepal's development goals,” a press statement issued by the IOM quoted Lando as saying. Established in 1951, IOM is a related agency of the UN and the leading inter-governmental organization in the field of migration.
