Joint security team starts repairing Mahuli River dam

RAJBIRAJ, July 6: A joint security squad has begun the reconstruction of a dam on the Mahuli River based in Tirhut Rural Municipality-5 in Saptari. The river dam got damaged by the flood in the river caused by incessant rains.

RAJBIRAJ, July 6: A joint security squad has begun the reconstruction of a dam on the Mahuli River based in Tirhut Rural Municipality-5 in Saptari. The river dam got damaged by the flood in the river caused by incessant rains.



According to Chief District Officer Krishna Bahadur Katwal, the Rajbiraj-based Krishnadal Battalion of Nepal Army has sent a 70-member squad to repair the damaged dam. Likewise, separate teams from the Armed Police Force and Nepal Police are in the flood-affected sites for the dam reconstruction works.

The swollen river breached the dam at five points in distance of some meters and gushed to the local settlement, inundating it entirely.


Likewise, the river water has also entered the other nearby settlements forcing the people out of their home.


It is learnt that most of those displaced by the floods are taking shelter at their relatives' home in India. RSS
