Journos trained in online application in Hetauada

MAKWANPUR, Aug 16: Office of the Communication Registrar in Hetauda on Thursday conducted a training program for Makwanpur-based journalists to teach them about press-pass through a web application software.

MAKWANPUR, Aug 16: Office of the Communication Registrar in Hetauda on Thursday conducted a training program for Makwanpur-based journalists to teach them about press-pass through a web application software.



The media-persons have been oriented of using Communication Management and Information Systems (CMIS) software, in Hetauda.


Officer of the Registrar office Surendra Karki informed the participants about the procedure of applying through online while Rewati Sapkota, the Registrar at the office answered the questions raised by the journalists.

During the event, Registrar Rewati Sapkota informed that a new fund will be set up to provide pension to senior journalists and to support working journalists at the time of accidents and ailments as well as to enhance the capacity of female journalists.


“We are preparing to hold interaction program between media-entrepreneurs, working journos and concerned stakeholders to enact Working Journalists Act,” Sapkota added.  


Speaking at the program, the Minister of Internal Affairs and Law Shalikram Jammarkattel said that the provincial government is always supportive of all the working journalists. According to him, the registrar office has issued independent journalist identity cards only to eligible journalists.


 At the event, provincial Chairperson of Federation of Nepalese Journalists stressed the need for immediate implementation of the Working Journalists Act.


The software developed by Governance Automation Solution allows journalists from the province 3 to apply online by inputting their personal details, academic assets, training details and visit records.
