DOLPA, June 3: Around a dozen teams of doctors on Sunday reached different pastures of Dolpa for conducting mobile health camps following the untimely deaths of three yarsa collectors within a week.
Every year, during the yarsa picking season, many people lose their lives in lack of proper treatment and medication. This is why Karnali Province deployed various teams of health workers and doctors who will be providing health services to yarsa pickers by organizing health camps.

Lack of proper diet, chilly weather and altitude sickness are the major reasons behind the death of yarsa collectors. The Ministry of Social Development in Karnali Province decided to invest on the health camps to make sure that no person dies in the highlands in lack of timely treatment.
Altogether eight health camps have been set up in different places where yarsa collectors are camped. Acting health chief of the district Rana Lal Kulal informed Republica that the camps have been set up in Naurpani, Sisol, Sagar, Phulbari, Jagdulla, Gyalwara, Bagdanda and Kyangjuru. The mobile health camps will be organized for 15 days.
The ministry has deployed the teams with 70 different types of medicines. Rajendra Rokaya, one of the yarsa collectors from Thulibheri Municipality, expressed his gratefulness to the province for giving priority to their health. "It has offered us a relief," said Rokaya.
