Keep BIMSTEC leaders at different hotels: Gagan Thapa

KATHMANDU, Aug 13: Nepali Congress leader lawmaker Gagan Thapa has urged the government to keep heads of state, and representatives arriving to participate in the BIMSTEC summit, an international organization of seven nations of South Asia and South East Asia, to keep at different hotels.

KATHMANDU, Aug 13: Nepali Congress leader lawmaker Gagan Thapa has urged the government to keep heads of state, and representatives arriving to participate in the BIMSTEC summit, an international organization of seven nations of South Asia and South East Asia, at different hotels.



Speaking at the parliament on Monday, Thapa suggested that the guests should be kept at different hotels rather than at the same hotel.

Thapa has said that the government will start doing repair roads in Kathmandu in the run-up to the BIMSTEC summit for the fear that it would put leaders to shame, Thapa said with a note of irony.


BIMSTEC summit is taking place on August 30-31 in Kathmandu.  A total of six heads of the state are participating in the summit.
