KATHMANDU, August 27: Nepali Congress (NC) leader Min Bahadur Bishwakarma has alleged that  Mayor of Kathmandu Metropolitan City Balendra Shah (Balen) is promoting anarchic activities.

NC leader Bishwakarma gave this reaction when Mayor Shah of Kathmandu was demolishing unauthorized physical structures with dozers.

Speaking at a program held in Kathmandu on Friday, Bishwakarma also objected that Mayor Shah created chaos by removing those physical structures despite having the right to take legal action.

Stating that the Home Minister should not use guns despite the fact that he has the right to use ones, Bishwakarma said that such activities will only promote chaos and violence. “What are we seeing in the market today? Mayor is destroying physical structures around Kathmandu. Is this how our system works? Aren’t there any legal procedures for this?” asked Bishwakarma.

Bishwakarma also complained that Mayor Shah had terrorized the wrongdoers even though there was a provision of taking statements and fines. He also argued that such activities of Mayor Shah will cause problems to the political system.
