The city police team led by Metropolitan Police Chief Rajunath Pandey asked to stop the ritual on Tuesday saying that the ritual was being carried out without the permission of the KMC.

KMC police chief Pandey said that people have complained that they are not allowed to walk in the park and the approval of the ward has not been taken, and requested to do so only with the approval of the ward. He requested that such programs should be held only in religious places. On the other hand, the locals said that they held the festival because the place is a religious place.

There was an altercation between the city police and the locals for a while. Locals have said that they will conduct the ritual even if they have to get written permission but will not stop it.
