According to Manandhar, the general public will now be able to visit Ranipokhari without a ticket. After the reconstruction, the metropolis had repeatedly taken initiatives to open it up to the general public. “Although it was officially opened on Wednesday, people have started going to Ranipokhari from today," said spokesperson Manandhar.

After the earthquake of 2015 was damaged, Ranipokhari was rebuilt and given its original appearance. Although the then National Reconstruction Authority handed over Ranipokhari to the metropolis on December 28, 2021, it was not opened to the public.

Due to long closure and lack of maintenance, Ranipokhari became ugly due to the growth of weeds. Now, the Ranipokhari has been cleaned and opened for public, according to the Kathmandu Metropolitan City.
