Law, Justice and Human Rights committee forms sub-committee to discuss TRC Bill

KATHMANDU, May 19: Parliament's Law, Justice and Human Rights Committee has formed a sub-committee to discuss the Transitional Justice Bill.



A meeting of the committee held on Friday formed an 11-member sub-committee, in which there are two members each from Nepali Congress and CPN-UML, and one member each from the other seven political parties.

Three weeks have been provided to the subcommittee.


The government registered the bill to amend the Investigation of Enforced Disappeared Persons, Truth and Reconciliation Commission Act on March 9, 2023.


The sub-committee consists of Subas Chandra Nemwang, Mahesh Bertaula, Resham Akhtar, Jeevan Pariyar, Sushil Thing, Santosh Pariyar, Goma Labh Sapkota, Purna Bahadur Gharti, Ranju Kumari Jha, Dhruva Bahadur Pradhan and Sher Bahadur Kunwar.
