GORKHA, Oct 12: Locals have called for the development of the Manakamana Temple of Gorkha that has been recognized as a popular religious destination in the list of world heritage site.
The locals urged Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation Sudan Kirati to take initiative to include the temple in the world heritage site. The locals put forth their demand when Minister Kirati was participating in the Manakamana Temple cleaning programme.

On the occasion, Minister Kirati said the protection, supervision and management of the temple should be arranged in a way to make the local government responsible.
He made the commitment on behalf of the government to take necessary efforts for the development of the area along the temple.
