KATHMANDU, June 7: Locals at Sisadole have obstructed dumping of garbage in Banchare Danda. Stating that they do not agree with the agreement reached between the government and the representatives of the garbage dumping area, the agitating locals obstructed dumping of garbage in Banchare Danda on Tuesday morning.
An agreement was reached between the representatives of the Ministry of Urban Development, Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC), Kakani Rural Municipality of Nuwakot and Dhunibesi Municipality of Dhading to dispose of garbage generated by Kathmandu Valley from Tuesday.

However, the agitating locals obstructed the transportation of garbage to the landfill site.
Due to the locals’ obstruction, garbage collection from KMC, Lalitpur Metropolis and other municipalities has been affected since last week. The waste from Kathmandu and surrounding areas has been piled up on roads for the past several days.
