NEPALGUNJ, Sept 13: A pair of tigers that killed a man has been found in Gavar of Rapti Sonari Rural Municipality of Banke. The tigers were found in the park inside Bhattikhola in Gavar on the East-West Highway.
A 45-year-old man working at the Bheri Rapti Staff Hotel in Gabhar was eaten by a tiger of Royal Bengal breed. His body was found half-eaten on Monday morning while people were searching for him. He went missing on Sunday evening. The address of the deceased, who had been working at the hotel for some time, has not been revealed.
“Two tigers are roaming in the area where the killing took place. They must be a tiger and tigress. Hundreds of people have come to the spot to watch the tigers,” said Dharmaraj Khadka, a local.

According to Chief Conservation Officer, Shyam Kumar Shah at Banke National Park (BNP), the park is preparing to take control of the man-eating tigers to avoid a similar incident to repeat even in the days ahead. “We are trying to control the tigers so that they don’t cause further damage. However, it is quite challenging to control the two tigers as they are in the same place,” he said.
Similarly, Banke Police Chief SP Shyam Krishna Adhikari said that the name and address of the deceased have not been revealed yet. “He had been working at the hotel for some time. None of his relatives have come in contact with us," he said.
“The army has not allowed small vehicles including motorcycles to walk alone at the park. Also, Nepal Police has allowed the vehicles to move only in groups,” he added.
