NUWAKOT, Dec 26: Nearly 32 months after the deadly Gorkha earthquake, the District Disaster Rescue Committee, Nuwakot has just started to manage the relief materials received to distribute to the earthquake affected communities.

The relief materials brought during the time of disaster were stored due to disputes among the government officials and representatives of political parties over the locations for distributions. The stored relief materials were received in April and May, 2015.

Administrative Officer at District Administration Office Nandalal Sharma said the relief materials received to distribute to the quake-hit communities are being managed from Monday from the Bidur-based Skill Training Center.

Sharma said, "The date of foodstuffs has expired for storing a long period and lack of quality test." Goods worth Rs 50 million were received immediately after the earthquakes.

Foodstuffs, garments and utensils have lost their original quality and have become worthless for storing a long period on the floors of wet rooms, it is said.
