Maoist Center to expand Central Committee, no live-streaming of meeting

KATHMANDU, August 2: The CPN (Maoist Center) has also decided not to live-stream the Central Committee meeting.



Earlier today, the Standing Committee meeting of the CPN (Maoist Center) decided to expand the Central Committee. The Maoist Center is preparing to expand the current 385-member Central Committee to 407 members.

For that purpose, the proposal to amend the party’s statute is being submitted to the Central Committee meeting starting from today. Krishna Bahadur Mahara, spokesperson for the CPN (Maoist Center), said that women, youth and some senior leaders who were not previously part of the Central Committee will be included in the Central Committee after the amendment to the party statute by the Central Committee.


Furthermore, the Central Committee meeting, which was originally scheduled to be held at 11AM, has been rescheduled to 1PM.
