KATHMANDU, Jan 27: The National Medical Bill 2075 is likely to be tabled at the National Assembly on Tuesday. Despite efforts by the concerned committees, the ruling and opposition parties do not seem ready to budge from their stances.

The distance between ruling and opposition parties has apparently widened with the endorsement of the National Medical Education Bill on January 25 by the House of Representatives. The document was passed with majority amidst the protest of the main opposition. The main opposition also accuses the government of intending to scrap two hospitals established in commemoration of its two former party presidents and former prime ministers Girija Prasad Koirala and Sushil Koirala. It obstructed the recent House session over the same issue.

Meanwhile, the business advisory committee has continued efforts for a finding a consensus so as to conduct the National Assembly session scheduled for tomorrow, without any obstructions.

In a meeting held under the chair of NA chair Ganesh Prasad Timilsina, Federal Parliament Secretariat’s joint secretary Murari Mahat informed that efforts were underway for finding an agreement between the ruling and opposition parties to conduct the meeting smoothly.
