KATHMANDU, Aug 4: Minister for Urban Development Sita Gurung has directed employees of the subordinate bodies to work in a way that ensures expected results. The minister said she was committed to resolving the issues related to the projects that fall under the ministry.
In her address to an annual review meeting of the Department of Urban Development and Building Construction for the fiscal year 2022/23 on Friday, Minister Gurung directed the chiefs of projects to perform wholeheartedly. She urged them to focus on finding the solutions and not just the problems.

Admitting that the ministry failed to report the capital expenditure as per the expectation during the last fiscal year, she instructed the project chiefs to explore ways for increasing the capital expenditure.
On the occasion, Secretary Rabindranath Shrestha expressed the view of terminating the contracts of the sick projects.
Out of Rs 38.95 billion allocated to the department last year, it achieved 59 percent fiscal and 65 physical progress. This year, Rs 29.57 billion has been allocated for the department.
