Ministry to take action against civil servants creating TikTok videos during office hours

KATHMANDU,  June 12: The Ministry of Federal Affairs and General Administration is set to take decisive action against civil servants found making TikTok videos during office hours. With a notice recently issued by the ministry, explicit instructions have been provided to refrain from  creating TikTok videos while at work.

KATHMANDU,  June 12: The Ministry of Federal Affairs and General Administration is set to take decisive action against civil servants found making TikTok videos during office hours. With a notice recently issued by the ministry, explicit instructions have been provided to refrain from  creating TikTok videos while at work.



Kamal Prasad Bhattarai, a joint secretary and spokesperson for the ministry, emphasized that the use of office uniform, office vehicles, and the creation of TikTok content within the workplace are strictly prohibited during office hours. Bhattarai said, "We have explicitly instructed our employees to prioritize their official responsibilities and not to divert their focus towards TikTok. The failure to comply with these rules will result in disciplinary action in accordance with the established protocols."

The ministry's decision to implement these measures stems from recent complaints received regarding civil servants engaging in shooting TikTok videos. By taking a proactive stance, the ministry aims to uphold professionalism and ensure that civil servants remain dedicated to their assigned duties without indulging in unproductive activities.


With this move, the ministry intends to maintain a conducive work environment and promote efficiency within the civil service sector, discouraging any behavior that may undermine the reputation and integrity of public service.
