‘Miss Nepal Peace’ contestants spreading awareness on World Health Day

To mark World Health Day celebrated every year on April 7, contestants of ‘Miss Nepal Peace 2019’ participated in breast cancer awareness campaign ‘Pink Ribbon Walk’ held in Bhaktapur on Sunday.

To mark World Health Day celebrated every year on April 7, contestants of ‘Miss Nepal Peace 2019’ participated in breast cancer awareness campaign ‘Pink Ribbon Walk’ held in Bhaktapur on Sunday.



Dr Suzita Hirachan who is also the president of Nepal Breast Cancer Foundation coordinated the walk. A total of 26 contestants walked around Bhaktapur Durbar Square and stopped at the houses around to inform the locals about things related to breast cancer. Such as how breast cancer can be cured, who are prone to breast cancer and more.


This is the sixth edition of ‘Miss Nepal Peace’ organized every year by Next Models Nepal. Those who are in medical field working as a nurse and the students studying Nursing course are the eligible participants for this beauty pageant. According to the press statement released by Next Models Nepal, the contest aims to spread a wave of peace across the world and also make nurses more responsible toward society and their profession.

According to the President of Next Models Nepal, Ruby Dhamala the main objective of the campaign was to make the contestants responsible toward the society. The press statement quoting Yatana Pandey, executive director of Next Models Nepal stated, “These contestants are getting trainings related to personal development, public speaking, leadership and many more. The title winner will receive Rs 100,000 cash prize and a scholarship to pursue their higher studies either in USA or Australia.”


The finale of ‘Miss Nepal Peace’ is scheduled for April 20 at Soaltee Crowne Plaza, Soalteemode.
