Over 100 in the fray in FNCCI election

KATHMANDU, April 5: In the upcoming elections of the Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI), three panels consisting of industrialists and businessmen have registered their candidacies. Over a hundred candidates have registered their candidacies for various positions in the election, which is set to take place on April 12.

KATHMANDU, April 5: In the upcoming elections of the Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI), three panels consisting of industrialists and businessmen have registered their candidacies. Over a hundred candidates have registered their candidacies for various positions in the election, which is set to take place on April 12. Anjan Shrestha, Ram Chandra Sanghai, and Umesh Lal Shrestha have formed their separate panels for the post of senior vice-president and other positions and are competing in the election. Similarly, Surakrishna Vaidya, Arunraj Sumargi, and Dinesh Shrestha have registered their candidacies for the post of Vice President of the District chapters.



Sakuntala Hirachan, Manish Lal Pradhan, and Hemraj Dhakal have also registered their candidacies for the posts of Vice-President of the District chapter. Jyotsna Shrestha and Bharat Raj Acharya are candidates for the Associate Vice-President position.

Fourteen candidates have registered for the position of Central Member from the private sector, while 28 have registered for 18 positions from the industrial and commercial sectors, and 30 have registered for 19 positions from the associate sector. Sunil KC has been elected unopposed from the Nepal-India Chambers of Commerce and Industry.


Similarly, Jamsher Miya has been elected unopposed as the member of the FNCCI from Lumbini Province. As per the federation's regulations, each province has one central member. There are three candidates each from the Koshi and Karnali provinces, while Madhesh, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Lumbini have four candidates each.
