KATHMANDU, Dec 11: The dengue infection has been confirmed in more than 54,000 people in Nepal in the last six months. The Epidemiology and Disease Control Division has reported that 54,067 infected people have been identified since July. The infection rate had escalated since July.

Dengue was detected in 27,529 people in September, followed by 17,889 in October, 4,042 in November and 179 people till December 11.
This year, the number of dengue infected has reached 54,232, according to the department.
