Mountain Sports Conclave successfully concludes; Nepal commits to host Mountain Sports Games in 2024

KATHMANDU, July 16: The Mountain Sports Conclave came to a successful conclusion with a momentous commitment to host the Mountain Sports Games in Nepal in 2024. The closing ceremony, held in Nagarkot, witnessed all participants pledge to organize the prestigious mountain sports event in the country next year.

KATHMANDU, July 16: The Mountain Sports Conclave came to a successful conclusion with a momentous commitment to host the Mountain Sports Games in Nepal in 2024. The closing ceremony, held in Nagarkot, witnessed all participants pledge to organize the prestigious mountain sports event in the country next year.



During the conclave, Member Secretary Tankalal Ghising presented Nepal's concept for the Mountain Sports Games, garnering enthusiastic support from the National Sports Council and the Mountain Sports Federation, who co-organized the event.

A significant part of the conclave focused on facilitating discussions between foreign delegations, embassies, and government officials on promoting sports, fostering inter-governmental coordination for mountain sports and leveraging sporting events to enhance the country's brand image. The potential for adventure and tourist spots in the region was also a key topic of discussion.


Distinguished attendees included representatives from various foreign missions and embassies, Member of the National Planning Commission Ramesh Paudel, Member Secretaries of the Provincial Sports Development Council, officials from the Nepal Olympic Committee, representatives of sports associations, UNESCO delegates, media representatives, and members of tourism and entrepreneurs' associations.
