MP Gyawali demands govt clarify about SPP in parliament

KATHMANDU, June 15: Pradeep Kumar Gyawali, an MP of the main opposition party CPN-UML and a former minister, has demanded the government to clarify the United States State Partnership Program (SPP) “which it is about to sign”.

KATHMANDU, June 15: Pradeep Kumar Gyawali, an MP of the main opposition party CPN-UML and a former minister, has demanded the government to clarify the United States State Partnership Program (SPP) “which it is about to sign”.



Taking special time in today's meeting of the House of Representatives, former foreign minister Gyawali said that no action should be taken to disrupt Nepal's independent and balanced foreign policy and demanded clarification from the government.

Gyawali also reminded that after the correspondence in 2015, without in-depth study, the then government did not process the draft of the agreement. He also clarified that the Nepal Army should not work under the strategic umbrella of any other country except for the call of the United Nations for the establishment of peace in the world.


He also urged not to act in a way that would adversely affect Nepal's foreign policy and foreign relations.
