My remarks are not targeted against anyone: Minister Yadav

KATHMANDU, Jan 24: Minister for Physical Infrastructure and Transport Renu Kumari Yadav has clarified that her statement recently that has drawn criticism from various quarters is not aimed at anyone personally.



Earlier, addressing a program organized at Rautahat on January 19, Minister Yadav said that mass murder of cadres of CK Raut-led party could take place again while expressing her agitation toward Janmat Party Chairman CK Raut.

The minister in a statement today expressed her sadness over people’s misunderstanding about her statement. 


She requested people to take the matter normal and pledged to be aware about such matters in the days to come. 


“My statement was not meant personally and was not with a mindset of prejudice and malice. And it also did not mean to cause any violence and provoke anyone.”  She also urged people not to exaggerate her statement. 


At a program organized by the then CPN (Maoist Center) in Rautahat on March 21, 2007, the cadres of the then Madhesi Jana  Adhikar Forum attacked it. As many as 27 Maoist cadres were killed in the attack. The Forum was led by JSP Chairman Upendra Yadav, who is now a coalition partner.
