NA disposes of 27 suspicious objects

KATHMANDU, Aug 15: Nepal Army (NA) has removed various suspicious objects including a few pressure cooker bombs from across the country on Tuesday.

KATHMANDU, Aug 15: Nepal Army (NA) has removed various suspicious objects including a few pressure cooker bombs from across the country on Tuesday.



While many of the suspicious objects turned out be hoax bombs, some of them were pressure cooker bombs, according to spokesperson for NA, Brigadier General Gokul Bhandari. According to him, teams of Nepal Army disposed of suspicious objects at as many as 27 places including the capital on Tuesday. “Our teams safely disposed of such objects and no untoward incidents occurred,” he said.

Following the arrest of its party members, Netra Bikram Chand-led CPN (Maoist) announced a nation-wide banda on Tuesday.


Normal life was partially affected across the country. Some incidents of arson or vandalism of vehicles including school buses were reported in some places of the country while academic institutions remained closed in some places. Otherwise, vehicular movements in most places of the country were normal.
