KATHMANDU, Oct 20: The National Academy of Medical Sciences (NAMS) has deferred the entrance exam of medical education that was scheduled for Saturday.

Issuing a notice on October 15, NAMS had called all students to attend entrance examination slated for Saturday. The minister, however, instructed the NAMS to postpone the entrance exam saying students from remote areas will face difficulty to appear in the examinations.
Students who came to take the exam were outraged by the last-minute postponement of the entrance exam. They said that they were neither given the notice of entrance exam nor notice of postponement on time.
Minister Yadav acted due to a concern toward the students who have filled the forms but would be unable to make it to the exam hall due to the short notice by NAMS.
“The time interval for release of notice for exam and that of entrance exam was not even four days, which is against the international practice,” said Mahesh Chaurasiya, press coordinator to Health Minister Yadav.
