KATHMANDU, Nov 3: The Embassy of India in Kathmandu has said that the visit of Indian Army Chief General Manoj Mukund Naravane to Nepal would deepen the long-standing and customary bonds of friendship between the Armies of two countries.
Posting a tweet, the Embassy of India wrote that the visit of Chief of the Army Staff of the Indian Army Naravane provides an opportunity for both sides to discuss the bilateral defense partnership and explore avenues to further strengthen it for mutual benefit.

The Army Chief of India is arriving in Kathmandu on Wednesday for a three-day visit. During the visit, Army Chief General will be conferred an honorary rank of General of the Nepali Army. The Army Chief will be conferred the honorary rank by President Bidhya Devi Bhandari.
The Indian Chief of Army Staff is scheduled to hold extensive talks with the top civilian and military brass, including his counterpart General Purna Chandra Thapa on a range of issues.
Since 1950, Nepal and India have been awarding Army chiefs of each other countries with the highest army rank as a tradition.
