National Labour and Employment Conference-2019 kicks off

KATHMANDU, June 30: The ‘National Labour and Employment Conference-2019’ commenced with a view of creating job opportunities in the country and engaging youths in socio-economic development. Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli inaugurated the two-day conference organized by the Ministry of Labor, Employment and Social Security (MoLESS).

KATHMANDU, June 30: The ‘National Labour and Employment Conference-2019’ commenced with a view of creating job opportunities in the country and engaging youths in socio-economic development. Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli inaugurated the two-day conference organized by the Ministry of Labor, Employment and Social Security (MoLESS).



The conference is aimed at exploring avenues for labor and employment, creating ways and means to attract Nepali youths in domestic labor, strengthening labor relations, thereby generating dynamic economy through the development of this sector. Deliberations will be made on the policy, laws and mechanism to be put in place to regulate and promote labor and employment sector. Identification of challenges prevailing in the labor and sectors as well as prospects of skills and employment are the issues of discussion, according to MoLESS.

In the first day, experts are scheduled to present working papers on the review of policy of labor and employment, labor migration and integration of foreign employment returnees. Likewise, the second day of the conference will see discussion on Nepali labor market, work culture and labor dignity, entrepreneurship of Nepali youths, employment and information technology and national economy and development of skills for employment.


The organizers are hopeful that the recommendations furnished by the experts in the conference would aid in launching more strategic programs in the labor and employment sector.
