KATHMANDU, June 12: Former Prime Minister Baburam Bhattarai on Sunday announced Naya Shakti Nepal party amidst presence of thousands of supporters at Dashrath Stadium.
He also administered a 10-point oath to the newly-inducted members of the party.

“I will do what I speak. I will always be optimistic,” reads a point of the oath.
The former rebel had announced armed war in 1996 after presenting 40-point demands including scrapping of Mahakali Treaty with India before the then Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba.
In 2005, Bhattarai faced action from the party and was kept at a detention in Rolpa.
Later, he played a significant role for signing of 12-point agreement between the Maoist party and major political parties that paved the way for the peace process in New Delhi, India on November 22, 2005.
A Comprehensive Peace Accord (CPA) was later signed being based on the agreement that formally ended the decade-long armed conflict.
Bhattarai was elected the 35th Prime Minister on August 18. 2011. He had received applauses for using Nepal-made vehicle and road widening drive in Kathmandu Valley.
With heightening dispute in the UCPN (Maoist), Bhattarai had deserted the party on September 26 last year. He was then active in activities of forming a new political party.
