NC emerges as the first party in Dolakha as UML and Maoist Center fall behind

CHARIKOT, May 21: Nepali Congress (NC) has won a majority of the local levels in Dolakha district in the local level elections held on May 13.



There are a total of two municipalities, seven rural municipalities and 74 wards in Dolakha district. The NC has emerged as the first largest party in the district as it has won three mayor/chairpersons, three deputy mayors \vice-chairpersons and 25 ward chairpersons.

Similarly, CPN-UML has secured second position in the district. The party has secured mayoral posts in two municipalities, deputy mayoral posts in five municipalities and rural municipalities and the posts of ward chairperson in 23 wards. 


Likewise, CPN (Maoist Center) has stood third largest party in the district by winning three mayoral posts, one deputy mayoral post and the posts of 21 ward chairpersons. The CPN (Unified Socialist) has won the chairpersons of one rural municipality and two ward chairpersons. Two independent candidates have registered their victory as chairpersons of two wards in the district.
