KATHMANDU, Dec 11: Delegates who have come to Kathmandu to attend the 14th General Convention of the Nepali Congress (NC) have said that the experience of the senior leaders and the enthusiasm of the youth should be considered to strengthen the party organization.

General Convention delegate from Dhanusha Constituency No. 1 Raj Kishor Singh, during a talk on Friday at the inauguration of the 14th General Convention of the party, said that there is a need for transformation within the party to suit the 21st century.

Singh said that it was necessary to have a serious review within the party on why the NC, which once had a good support base in the Terai, has become weak today. "The NC has a history of being able to form a majority government when it can perform well in Madhesh. Hence, a leadership is needed that can connect the mountains, hills and the Terai," said Singh.
