NC General Convention: Deuba on lead with 1900 votes

KATHMANDU, Dec 14: The counting of votes for the election of the new leadership of the Nepali Congress is underway. Presidential candidate Sher Bahadur Deuba has received 1900 votes followed by Dr. Shekhar Koirala with 1,467 votes, as of 4000 votes are counted.

KATHMANDU, Dec 14: The counting of votes for the election of the new leadership of the Nepali Congress is underway. Presidential candidate Sher Bahadur Deuba has received 1900 votes followed by Dr. Shekhar Koirala with 1,467 votes, as of 4000 votes are counted.  



According to the latest information, Prakash Man Singh has received 296 whereas Bimalendra Nidhi got 230 votes while Kalyan Gurung got 20 votes.

The voting for the party's president was started at 1 PM on Monday in which 4,679 votes were cast while 64 were not present.


The counting of votes for the party president started at 4 AM on Tuesday. Also, the polling time had been extended till 9 PM yesterday as all the voters could not cast their votes by 5 PM.
