NC leader extends support to families of Thadi Bazaar landslide victims

JAJARKOT, Aug 12: Nepali Congress leader, Ratna Bahadur Khadka has provided families who lost their loved ones in a landslide at Thadi Bazaar last week. For each member lost, the families were provided with Rs. 30,000.  The landslide had claimed lives of nine people, eight of whom were children.

JAJARKOT, Aug 12: Nepali Congress leader, Ratna Bahadur Khadka has provided families who lost their loved ones in a landslide at Thadi Bazaar last week. For each member lost, the families were provided with Rs. 30,000.  The landslide had claimed lives of nine people, eight of whom were children.



A construction businessman as well, Khadka supported the families to help them for immediate rehabilitation. Organizing a program at Thadi Bazaar’s elderly home where the families have living temporarily, Khadka handed over the amount.

Lal Bahadur Luhar of Bheri municipality-6, Gangatiya was provided with Rs. 120,000 as he lost wife, Sitala and three daughters, Bhagwati, Ranjana and Manisha. Likewise, Surita Pariyar of Nalgadh municipality-3 was provided with Rs. 60,000 among others. In total, the Nepali Congress leader distributed Rs. 270,000.


Thanking his contribution, Chief District Officer, Lalit Kumar Basnet said that Khadka’s contribution was laudable as it would help the families to seek for rehabilitation options. The central, provincial and municipal governments have decided to provide Rs. 100,000, 25,000 and 30,000 respectively for the families of the deceased.
