TANAHUN, Sept 4: Nepali Congress senior leader Ram Chandra Poudel has expressed dismay over the 'slow progress' in the institutionalization of loktantra and achieving development for the country.

Leader Poudel was speaking in a face-to-face programme here on Tuesday.

He also opined that the nation was losing the opportunity for development due to the tendency of talking big about development but not paying heed to the people's basic needs.

Charging that the development plans were tending towards centralization, the NC senior leader suggested decentralizing the development plans as per the spirit of federalism.

He added that there were doubts about this government institutionalizing democracy given its wont towards 'threatening and controlling the constitutional bodies'.

Senior leader Poudel said that he has not made any compromise within any other leader of the Nepali Congress for getting to the post of party president and underlined the need of reforms in the party.  RSS
