NC takes action against five candidates for non-cooperation with party

KATHMANDU, Nov 14: The Nepali Congress (NC) has taken action against five party leaders on the charge of non-cooperation with the party and its election candidates by fielding rebel candidates.

KATHMANDU, Nov 14: The Nepali Congress (NC) has taken action against five party leaders on the charge of non-cooperation with the party and its election candidates by fielding rebel candidates.



They have been accused of running in the elections to the House of Representatives and the Province Assembly as rebel candidates against the candidates officially fielded by the party, according to the NC central discipline committee.

The party leaders who faced action are Mangal Bahadur Shahi, a member of the party Mahasamiti, Humla, Rabindra Prasad (Roshan) Yadav and Birendra Prasad Yadav, both Mahasamiti representatives, party members Dharmendra Prasad Yadav and Ram Ekwal Prasad Yadav, and Aananda Prasad Dhungana, member of the party discipline committee.


The NC has scrapped Dhungana's party membership for five years as per the party's statute.
