KATHMANDU, Dec 24: A central committee meeting of the Oli-led faction of the ruling Nepal Communist Party (NCP) has decided to curtail the executive rights granted to Executive Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal.
The meeting which is currently underway at the prime minister's official residence in Baluwatar took a decision to this effect by amending the party statute, according to party leaders.
With this decision, the signature of party chairman KP Sharma Oli will only be valid. Earlier, signatures of both the chairmen would be valid.
However, the provision of two chairmen in the party is still intact in the party statute.

The rival faction has also expanded its central committee, making it to 1199.
The rival faction has submitted all the documents to the Election Commission that are required to be officially recognized as the authentic NCP.
The decision of the Oli-led faction of the NCP to curtail rights of executive chairperson Dahal comes two days after the party suffered a split on Tuesday as they differed on the government's decision to dissolve parliament, amid an already deep intraparty rift.
