Nepal crush Malaysia in rain-curtailed match

KATHMANDU, Nov 14: The whirlwind cameos by Nepal U-19 skipper Dipendra Airee (12) and unbeaten innings by Anil Kumar Sah (17) has handed Nepal a crushing win by eight wickets over host nation Malaysia in final group round match at Bayuemas Oval. The match was curtailed to 24 overs per side match after persistent rain delayed the proceedings earlier. Nepal now has 4 points after three matches of Group A.

KATHMANDU, Nov 14: The whirlwind cameos by Nepal U-19 skipper Dipendra Airee (12) and unbeaten innings by Anil Kumar Sah (17) has handed Nepal a crushing win by eight wickets over host nation Malaysia in final group round match at Bayuemas Oval. The match was curtailed to 24 overs per side match after persistent rain delayed the scheduled start. Nepal now has 4 points after three matches of Group A.



Dipendra scored two sixes in his three deliveries innings, similarly, Anil managed sme number of sixes along with a four guiding Nepal to a victory in 5.3 overs.



Earlier, Nepal won the toss and elected to bowl. Sandeep Lamichhane continued his red-hot form against Malaysia as he notched up another 5-wicket-haul in the third consecutive match this year against them. Supported by Alam and Airee's two wickets each Nepal bundled out the opposition for 45 runs in 15.3 runs.



The final semi-final spots for top two teams will be decided after the India versus Bangladesh U-19 match which is going on in Malaysia.
